I'm glad you have transportation again, but I agree with the other posters who have said that God/Jesus had nothing to do with it.

Just Ron and I went to karaoke party last night - bud select beer for him and premixed margaritas for me. Had a great time singing badly and hanging out with our friends. Surprisingly, there was no orgy or wife swapping. Guess the WT got that part wrong too LOL

My name - Finally Awake - refers to how I felt when I first realized the truth about "the truth". I felt like I had awakened from a decade long coma. My avatar is a photo of a clay Sparlock figure I made last last year. He graced my Christmas tree and now serves as a family mascot.

The WTBTS does not provide any sort of help or support for members who have lost someone due to the blood doctrine. It is left entirely up to the individual publishers to support each other, and generally that means the bereaved are left to recover on their own. Any "help" given by elders is simply to exhort the bereaved to "study, pray, go in field service, make all the meetings"

I'm sure my aunt and uncle are going to convention in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. I don't know where they are assigned this year, but I'll probably get a phone call soon after to talk about all the "wonderful provisions Jehovah has provided". I've avoided telling them we are inactive, much less that we know TTATT because they are old and it would really break my uncle's heart. Poor old man has nothing at all to show for all his years of devotion.

Biological V. Logical Family
by StinkyPantz2.0 in"sunday was mothers day, one of the worst days of the year for me emotionally, and not because my mother has died (although i still grieve for her).
my biological family disowned me because i rejected the religion that they chose for me at birth.
when i talk about this with others, especially those that havent been through it, they usually say, get over them.

No matter the reason, being rejected by one's biological family hurts. My father abandoned me as an infant, and his family either didn't know I existed or chose to ignore me as well. My mother's father died when I was 2, and I never had a stepfather or substitute grandfather figure. My father has again chosen to cut me off after I tracked him down and tried to develop a relationship. There is no way to fill that void in my life, partially due to the fact that I simply don't know how to relate to a father figure.

We had a couple of border hoppers in our old hall. They lived in our territory but attended a different hall. But whenever they'd get peeved at that hall, they'd show up at ours for a while.

People who pioneer on government assistance
by ilikecheese ini had a chat with my boyfriend about this, and he said that he knows quite a few pioneers who are capable of working but prefer to pioneer with government assistance.
his thought was, "well, it's kind of bad, but at least they're doing something useful/good with their time.
" i know from reading this board that it's a pretty widespread thing.

A person who can pioneer can work a job, unless the pioneering consists 100% of telephone and letter witnessing and the person is confined to an iron lung machine. However, just because a person is capable of performing a job doesn't mean there is a job available for them to take. in some areas, disability payments are a substitute for long term unemployment insurance. I'd rather see people who can work do something productive, but that's not how the system is designed here in the US.
